Dr. Ronald C. Desrosiers Receives International HIV Research Award

Ronald C. Desrosiers, Ph.D., professor of pathology and Director of Research Faculty Development at the Miller School of Medicine and an international leader in HIV research, received the David Barry DART Achievement Award at the HIV DART and Emerging Viruses conference in Los Cabos, Mexico.

Study Identifies Gastric Cancer Biomarker and Possible Treatment

Scientists at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Miami, and Shantou University Medical College in Guangdong, China, have shown that the hormone receptor GHRH-R could be a potential biomarker for gastric cancer, enabling earlier diagnoses and better staging.
