Clinical Microbiology
The Microbiology laboratory is a full service laboratory for bacteriology, mycology, virology, parasitology, infectious diseases serology and molecular testing. The laboratories Directors are two full-time faculty of the University of Miami and they oversee a staff of 40 individuals. We have a close affiliation with the Infectious Diseases division of the University of Miami and the Infection Control Department of Jackson Health systems.
The laboratory has been expanding its menu for molecular testing and continues to offer consultative services to the medical staff at Jackson Health Systems and the University of Miami Hospital.
