Immunohistochemistry

The immunohistochemistry laboratory at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital was established in 1978. It has been a pioneer laboratory in tissue localization of immunohistochemical markers for the diagnosis and classification of various disease processes, particularly those of neoplastic nature. The laboratory performs 25,000 clinical tests annually for patients in our medical center. It is also a reference center for community laboratories in Florida and Latin America. For the past 25 years the laboratory has served as a training center for pathologists and technologists from the United States and abroad.

The Immunohistochemistry Laboratory is also a core research facility for the faculty in the Department of Pathology and Scientist throughout the Medical Center. Several books and numerous book chapters and peer reviewed publications were based on the work performed in this facility.

There is a team of pathologists specialized in Immunohistochemistry at the University of Miami.
