Research

The excellent clinical care provided by anatomical, clinical and veterinary pathologists is supported and supplemented by active research programs. Physicians, veterinarians and basic research scientists in the Department of Pathology are encouraged to conduct research aimed at molecular understanding of pathophysiology of human and animal diseases with ultimate goal of improving diagnosis, prognostication and treatment of our patients. Support for ongoing research is provided through federal, state, and local funding agencies, as well as through collaborations with private companies. The Department of Pathology is at the forefront of new tests and technologies in pathology field. Performed research is the catalyst for development and application of new tests and refinement of existing technologies.
