Forensic Toxicology

The Forensic Toxicology Laboratory of University of Miami is staffed by licensed toxicologists who analyze for drugs of abuse in biological fluids for South Florida law enforcement agencies. In addition, it provides expert testimony to the State Attorney’s Office in criminal cases involving drugs of abuse and ethanol testing. Because of its access to samples from a wide spectrum of subjects, the laboratory provides a repository of information of the changing patterns of drug use in our community. The Forensic Toxicology staff participates in lectures and workshops at numerous profession meetings and law enforcement training sessions.
